Alex from Cherry Blossom Weddings & Events had the pleasure of helping Matt & Sara make their special day a huge success. The couple was married on May 15, 2010 in one of the most beautiful churches in Washington, DC. And although the National Cathedral was open to the public, the ceremony had 160 of the bride and grooms friends and family making it feel quite intimate. The guests continued on to the National Museum of Women in the Arts for the reception while the bridal party used the gorgeous weather to their advantage with more photos at the Lincoln Monument. After a tasty meal catered by Ridgewells, the guests danced the night away to Retrospect. Following the nights events, the bride and groom left in a classic Rolls Royce. Thanks to Amy Deputy for these beautiful photos and congratulations to the lovely couple!

Roshan and Ale have been one of the best couples Alex from Cherry Blossom Weddings has worked with yet. Not only are they the nicest people, but they are so in love and have a general love of life. The couple always seems to be smiling and with smiles like theirs, it’s quite contagious. The bride chose colors of fuchsia and bright orange which fit perfectly with their theme of ‘Love is Sweet’. Ale wanted a venue that was nothing less then amazing. They ended up at the Andrew Mellon Auditorium for their reception and the fun colors only made the venue look more amazing than it already is. To back up a bit, Roshan & Ale tied the knot at St. Stephen Martyr on Pennsylvania Ave which is a hidden gem of a church. All the ladies bouquets had some sweets tied in and the bright colors looked spectacular. For the main event, the bride walked down the aisle with her father as the Steele Drums played ‘Ave Maria’. Back at the reception, the guests enjoyed a mix of traditional Columbian and Trinidadian appetizers with a tasty American dinner. Once dancing started, it didn’t stop. Guests took short breaks to relax in the lounge or grab another cocktail at the glowing hot pink bar. Congratulations to one of life’s sweetest couples, Roshan and Ale!
Special thanks to Procopio Photography for these STUNNING photos!

Newlyweds and new doctors, Brittany & Nick, have accomplished a lot over the years with some of the most exciting recently! A few weeks before their nuptials, they both graduated medical school, bought a new house, a new car and after dating for several years, were ready to get married. Alex from Cherry Blossom Weddings and Events helped the couple’s special day come together as the ceremony took place at the stunning Holy Trinity Church in Georgetown, followed by a fun and beautiful reception at the Fairmont. The bride chose colors of apple green and purple which looked great in the ballroom. Thanks to Greg Gibson for the fabulous photos! Congratulations Brittany & Nick!

Elizabeth from Cherry Blossom Weddings & Events had an amazing time working with Sofia and Afzalul to plan their traditional Hindu wedding in which every detail was colorful and joyous! The wedding began with the baraat, in which Afzalul’s family escorted him down the DC streets to the ceremony at the Westin Grand Hotel. Once the groom arrived, a sitar and tabla played in the background as Sofia was escorted down the aisle by her parents. Following the ceremony, the couple changed into their reception attire and headed to the ballroom, where tons of red orchids scented the room and amber lights gave the room a great look. After a tasty meal from Rangoli Restaurant and a beautiful cake designed by Fancy Cakes by Leslie, the party really began! The guests packed the dance floor the whole night. Congratulations to a very sweet couple, Sofia and Afzalul! Thanks to Eli from Freed Photography for these great photos.

Chantal from Cherry Blossom Weddings & Events is so thankful that the weather held out for the beautiful Memorial Day wedding of Sarah and David at the National Cathedral. The light shown through the beautiful stained glass windows as the gorgeous bride and handsome groom exchanged vows in the heart of the cathedral in the Great Choir in front of 120 of their friends and family. Following the ceremony, the couple went to the bishop’s garden at the Cathedral where they took some fun portrait shots. Atop the Hay Adams’ roof, guests enjoyed hors d’ourvres during the cocktail hour and took in one of the most stunning views of the city. After a tasty meal in the ornate John Hay room, guests put their dancing shoes on while listening to the amazing band Sound Nation. Thanks to Bryan Blanken from Freed Photography who did a superb job with the photos and another congratulations to Sarah and David!

The stars were aligned for this June 5 wedding, as the rain held out and everything came together beautifully for the celebration of Liz and Chris’ wedding. Before the ceremony at St. Albans, the couple met up to take some time for pictures with friends and family in the lovely Bishop’s Garden between St. Albans and the National Cathedral. After a quick cool down from the 90+ degree weather, the couple met at the altar to exchange vows in the historic church. After the ceremony, guests rode off to the prestigious Cosmos Club, where they enjoyed a tasty meal and danced the night away. It was a pleasure for Chantal from Cherry Blossom Weddings & Events to get to help Liz and Chris plan their wedding and best wishes with the next chapter of your lives! A big thanks to Tony from Imijination Photography for these great photos!

Amy and Rene’s love was witnessed by 45 of their closest friends and family as they celebrated in the intimate Nest at the historic Willard hotel. Chantal from Cherry Blossom Weddings & Events was thrilled to be a part of their special day as they exchanged their vows in front of their good friend (and great dancer) Evan before enjoying a delicious meal complete with German sauerbraten and spaetzel, a tribute to Rene’s German heritage. After dinner they danced and some even waltzed the night away! Greenworks did a beautiful job with the flowers and a special thanks to Eli Turner from Freed Photography for these amazing photos!

Alex from Cherry Blossom Weddings and Events had the pleasure of working with Jessica and Andrew on their wedding. Jessica and Andrew were married last year at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in DC with the reception following at the amazing Hotel Monaco. The bride wanted a clean and simple look and they were able to accomplish that by keeping things fresh and elegant with seveal orchids. A touch of glam was just perfect with the bride’s fur shawl. The guests danced the night away to Fancy Pants and the groom shocked everyone with his amazing dance moves! Thanks so much to Chris Balthazar for the great photos!
